Congratulations to the Valencia High School Academic Decathlon Team. After taking 2nd place overall in the county competition and 1st place in Super Quiz, the team represented Orange County in the state competition held in Sacramento, March 17-March 20. The team finished 17th in the state (69 teams competed) with 50,853 points! Valencia was also the second highest ranking team from Orange County. Our decathletes earned the following 12 individual medals:

Congratulations to Coach Tiffany Guy, her staff, and the 9 cheerleaders that performed this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. In a tough field of 22, they qualified in the top 8 to perform on Sunday and place 5th overall in their division at the national championships. We are so proud of the girls and their efforts. Great job Coach Tiff.

Congratulations to VHS BITA Program teacher Roy Morrison for being selected as the North Orange County ROP Teacher of the Year. Roy has served at Valencia High School for 10 years and has built a strong program that prepares students to enter the construction / building industry. Go Tigers!

Congratulations to Coach Brent Shenton and our Chemistry Olympiad Team for capturing 2nd place in Orange County. Team members include Winnie Chou, William Soong, Meghan Wang, June Ho Park and Benjamin Nguyen. June Ho Park and Benjamin Nguyen earned scores to advance to the national competition on April 23rd and Benjamin tied for the top score in all of Orange County. Please see the link below for details. A team of high school students from Valencia High School in Placentia, California recently concluded an exceptional round of competition in the eighth season of CyberPatriot – the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. Read the entire press release here.

Congratulations to Mason Paine and Alec Sweet who were recognized by the National Football Foundation as Scholar Athletes. Coach Marrujo was also awarded Retired Coach of the Year! Tiger Pride!
