Reminder!! The boy's basketball program will be having a fund raiser at Craftsman Wood Fired Pizza in Placentia on Tuesday, May 10th from 11:30am to 9:00pm.The program will get 15% on all food and drink (including adult beverages) sales. Please come out and support the boys.

Please congratulate Valencia students Cesar Luna, Doraneli, Morales, Veronica Espitia, Kerstie Hansen and Kristen Lee (not pictured) as they were recognized last night for their outstanding achievements in the Visual Arts.

The VHS PTSA generously hosted a Staff Appreciation Luncheon and presented Honorary Service Awards. PTSA President Stacey Wong recognized the following recipients for their contributions to Valencia High School.

VHS junior Ben Nguyen finished among the top 20 students in the national round of Chemistry Olympiad. He now is making arrangements to attend the national study camp where four students will be chosen to represent the United States against approximately 75 other countries in the international competition. Only two students in VHS history have made it to this level in the past. Go Tigers!

Congratulations to Coach Brent Shenton and VHS students Benjamin Nguyen and June Ho Park who advanced and competed in the National round of the Chemistry Olympiad. They joined eleven other students from Troy, University, Beckman, Brea Olinda, El Toro, Edison, Irvine and Northwood to represent Orange County. Approximately 1,000 students across the nation make it to this level. (Read more here.)

Congratulations to Coach Mark Castillo and his sons Derek and Ricky Castillo for being featured in Southland Golf magazine for their accomplishments on the golf course. Valencia High School is proud to announce that five of their AVID seniors were recognized last night at the OCDE AVID Senior Standout Recognition and Scholarship Presentation held at UC Irvine's Barclay Theatre. These seniors were chosen out of more than 500 applicants county-wide and received a combined total of $221,664 in scholarships over four years. Read more...
