Ms. Burns

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

 

I'm Ms. Burns and this is my 8th year of teaching at Valencia High School. I grew up in PYLUSD and graduated from Esperanza High School. I then attended Vanguard University (vanguard.edu) in Costa Mesa where I also played basketball. I received my B.A. in English, Single Subject Credential, and M.A. in Educational Leadership all from Vanguard University. I really enjoyed attending a smaller school (smaller class sizes!) and feeling connected to the Costa Mesa community.

 

In my time at Valencia I have taught 9th, 10th, and 11th English Language Arts, AP English Language and Composition, 11th grade Academic Language Development, 9th grade Bridging & Expanding ELD, and Emerging English Language Development.

 

This year I will be teaching 10th grade Language Arts, and AP English Language and Composition. I am also the Head Girls Basketball Coach.
