My name is Calen Rau and I currently teach World History and AVID 12. I am thrilled to be working with the students of VHS and to share my passion for history, the humanities, and college education! Before working at VHS I worked as a Co-Teacher, Teaching Assistant, and Tutor at Washington State University where I pursued graduate training in Modern European History. During my graduate work I spent extensive time in Budapest, Hungary and studied at Corvinus University of Budapest. I also studied European and World History in Hungary, Romania, and Austria during a study abroad program through Cal State Fullerton as an undergraduate. I bring extensive academic research experience to my classes, which is a focal point of the AVID 12, IB Extended Essay (EE), and the IB Higher Level History course.

Additionally, I am also a Valencia graduate (class of 2009) and could not be more thrilled to be back teaching the next generation of Tigers!!
