Teresa Shermer
I was a PYLUSD student K-12 then attended CSUF where I earned my BA in Theatre Arts and English Literature in 1990. I also attended CSUF to receive my credential in English in 1991. I received my MS and Pupil Personnel Service credential in Educational Counseling in 2005 from the University of La Verne.
I taught Theater Arts at Valencia from 1992-1998. I then taught ELD, and taught and coordinated the Valencia AVID program from 1998 to 2015. I have been the ELD Coordinator since 2011, teach our New Emerging 9-12 newcomers block periods 2 and 4 and Expanding/Bridging ELD 9 period 5, and am the ELD Department Chair.
My favorite hobby now is being in our house and spending time with my husband and two beautiful children who are in now in 7th and 9th grades. I love to travel internationally and domestically. I love to read, dance Salsa, and enjoy going to alternative music concerts. I love watching movies, going to the theater, and symphony. My family and I go riding motorcycles and quads and I like cooking and gardening.
My path was really focused. I graduated from El Dorado, went to CSUF for four years and started student teaching. I was hired at Valencia in 1992 and plan to be here until I retire.
