Mrs. Grace Stanton » Stagecraft (Period 6)

Stagecraft (Period 6)

COURSE DESCRIPTION.  Stagecraft is a course that gives students the opportunity to learn how to design, plan and operate equipment for a theatrical production.  Due to the fact that most of the productions occur after school hours, students will be required to dedicate time after school.  However, since the Valencia High School Auditorium is utilized by a wide variety of groups, students will have a number of opportunities to fulfill his requirements.

REQUIREMENTS.  Students are required to work ten evenings per semester. Some productions rehearse for three evenings and have a three night run and some productions are a one evening rehearsal and run.  Students may work and gather the required number of evenings as he chooses.  If a student works any of the VHS main stage productions in a managerial or head position, he will have served a semester’s commitment.  Any hours worked over the required time will be counted as community service hours and extra credit in class.
