The competition for first year chemistry students was also recently held. Fifty county schools sent their top eight students to CSUF to compete. Team scores are computed based on the top five scores for each school. Valencia finished second in Orange County. The team consisted of Aayush Somani, Chanson Zhao, Ashwin Bhupathy, Junil Kim and William Chung. Aayush received the top score for Valencia. This team will also be recognized with the Chemistry Olympiad Team at the ACS Chemistry Awards Dinner held at UCI on May 24.
