AMERICAN CHORAL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION HONOR CHOIR
Of the 3,300 students nationwide who auditioned for the American Choral Directors Association honor choir, 339 high school students were accepted. In all, singers are chosen for one of five choirs performing at the conference: a children’s choir, a junior high/middle school boys choir, a junior high/middle school girls choir, a high school mixed choir and a college/community Latin American choir. The association’s honor choirs will perform at their annual conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City in February.
Kyle Gabriel from Valencia High School was chosen to sing with the high school mixed choir. He is the only high school student from Orange County chosen this year. This is the first time a student from Valencia High School has been selected for this national choir.
