The Tigers capped off a stellar campaign with an 18-3 overall record and a runner-up finish in the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs. Duong went 2-1 in both Valencia’s semifinal victory over Cerritos High and in its 10-8 loss to Pasadena Poly in the finals. In the semis, Duong’s third round singles win gave the Tigers the decisive tenth point of the match, clinching the team’s first finals appearance since 2008.
